đź’ˇ Episode Highlights:

1. Motivation Changes Everything

When children are motivated, learning accelerates. PRT focuses on creating meaningful, engaging interactions that naturally support communication and connection.

🔑 2. Pivotal Behaviors Unlock Broader Learning

Instead of teaching one skill at a time, PRT targets key areas like:

  • Motivation

  • Initiation

  • Responsiveness to multiple cues

  • Self-management

These create ripple effects across development.

👨‍👩‍👧 3. Parents Are the Key to Progress

Parent coaching allows learning to happen throughout the day, not just during therapy sessions—leading to more meaningful and lasting change.

🌍 4. Telehealth Expands Access (and Opportunity)

Delivering NDBIs via telehealth:

  • Increases access for families

  • Supports real-life coaching

  • Allows clinicians to see authentic routines and challenges

🎨 5. The Art of NDBI = Flexibility + Creativity

Effective intervention requires:

  • Following the child’s lead

  • Adapting in the moment

  • Building learning around what matters to the child
